About the Club

The Forest & Stream Club is a distinguished private club located on the West Island of Montreal, recognized for its tradition, discretion, and high standards of hospitality. Our dining experience reflects a commitment to personalized service and a refined atmosphere for our members and guests.

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced and polished Maître D’ with a strong background in hands-on dining room service to lead front-of-house operations. This is a highly visible, service-driven role requiring active participation on the floor to ensure exceptional guest experiences and uphold the club’s service standards. The Maître D’ reports directly to the Food & Beverage Manager and works closely with them to ensure service excellence and alignment with club standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome members and guests with professionalism, warmth, and discretion
  • Manage reservations, seating, and dining room flow
  • Actively participate in dining room service as needed during service periods, as well as lead and supervise front-of-house service staff during meal service
  • Ensure service standards, etiquette, and presentation are consistently upheld
  • Coordinate closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth, timely service
  • Monitor guest satisfaction and address requests or concerns promptly
  • Maintain a refined ambiance aligned with the club’s traditions
  • Train and guide service staff by modeling best practices and professional standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Proven hands-on table service experience in fine dining, hospitality, or private club environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and support service teams on the floor
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Solid understanding of front-of-house operations and service standards
  • Working knowledge of kitchen operations to collaborate effectively with culinary staff
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Fluency in English and French is required

Role Description

We are currently hiring a Sous Chef to help lead our culinary team in our newly renovated kitchen. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in menu design, food preparation, and inventory management. The successful candidate must be able to work well on a team and will follow the orders of the Head Chef but should also be capable of making appropriate decisions in the case that the Head Chef is not available. This position would be a great opportunity to learn more about menu design while gaining experience managing a kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Aid the chef in the planning, preparation and execution of various menus.
  • Aid in training and management of kitchen staff.
  • Ensure the product is to the standards of food safety laws in accordance with MAPAQ specifications.
  • Ensure the management and rotation of food products to ensure the freshest and cost efficient product.
  • Aid with ordering and maintenance of inventory.
  • Maintain a sanitary and organized kitchen.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Organized individual who is adaptive and able to perform under pressure.
  • Have a functional knowledge of classic cooking techniques and their application.
  • Have a diploma from a culinary training program or its equivalent.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work standing for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs/22.5kg.
  • Availability to work days, nights & weekends
  • MAPAQ certification – Food handlers or Food establishment manager (preferred)

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher/Prep Cook to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in food service and kitchen operations, with a strong focus on cleanliness and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Basic fruit and vegetable prep.
  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, cutting, and measuring ingredients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
  • Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using proper sanitation techniques.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures in the kitchen.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience as a cook or dishwasher in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred

  • Familiarity with Dish washing equipment operation and maintenance
